Thirty-six members from Lone Star, Fort Worth, Houston, and Carolinas Sections attended the 2022 Texas Hill Country Run.
On Friday, northern Texas members caravanned from Fort Worth and met up with their central Texas colleagues for a burger supper at the Bear King Brewery in Marble Falls. After dinner, we enjoyed a scenic drive to the Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park resort in Burnet, where we spent the evening relaxing and/or mingling with fellow members.
On Saturday, we had a beautiful drive to Alstadt Brewery in Fredericksburg for lunch and washed that down with a great beer. After lunch, many members opted to spend the afternoon in Fredericksburg on their own. Dinner was at the resort’s restaurant where we had beautiful sunset views of Lake Buchanan. After dinner, we listened to live music under the stars. Many members ended their day with drinks on the patio of one of the cabins, which also had great views of Lake Buchanan.
On Sunday, we drove a scenic route to Perissos Vineyard and Winery for wine-tasting, along with cheese, fruit, meats, and crackers. That was the finale of a fine event, so we took to our cars for the long drive home. Kudos to Ginny and Arno Pitzen for making this happen.
